Consistently ranked as a top Italian University both nationally and internationally, UniTrento hosts 11 Departments and 4 Centres of excellence, including the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering (DICAM), home of the EESIC Joint Master Programme.
At UniTrento, EESIC benefits from the 15-year experience of the track in Environmental Sustainability and International Cooperation within the Master programme in Environmental Engineering, also focusing on thought-provoking courses on applied hydraulic engineering, urban solutions for environmental and urban sustainability, waste management, ecology and renewables.
Valuable to the EESIC is also UniTrento's active engagement as the UNESCO Chair in Engineering for Human and Sustainable Development. Since its creation in 2011, the UNESCO Chair has sponsored several research projects in international cooperation all around the world, contributing to local water and waste management.
On the subject of Environmental Sustainability and International Cooperation, the Chair also sponsored and organised ESIC’s, a cycle of webinars, open to practitioners and researchers aimed at exploring international environmental and solutions drawing from the state of science and from the experience of local contexts.
Among other UniTrento accomplishments, worth mentioning is the Honours Programme TALETE. TALETE is an advanced training programme jointly organised by DICAM, the Department of Sociology and Social Research and the School of International Studies with the Centre for International Cooperation. TALETE aims at strengthening outstanding students' knowledge and technical skills to work in the context of international cooperation, dealing everyday with complex and cross-sector situations.
Also cementing UniTrento's commitment to foster development cooperation programmes, the “UniTrento for Development'' (UNITN4D) has been funded as a key strategic project to develop innovative interdisciplinary research opportunities in collaboration with the Centre for International Cooperation.
